Hello! I’m an experienced educator offering personalised tutoring in Physics, Maths, and Science. With a background in the media, I've got a knack for breaking down complex concepts in a way that doesn't put my students to sleep.

About me

Experience and qualifications

As a former Assistant Head of Science at an independent school, I have a wealth of experience teaching Physics, Chemistry, Science and Maths to high-school students. I’ve also helped primary school students prepare for scholarship, OC, and selective school entry tests.

My story goes beyond teaching, though. I have a diverse background in media and communications, working on ABC TV’s Rage and Catalyst and serving as Deputy Editor at Oyster magazine. These experiences honed my ability to connect with students and find innovative ways to tackle problems.

I hold a Bachelor of Science (USYD) and a Master of Teaching in Secondary Education (UTS). During my academic journey, I've earned the University of Sydney Civil Engineering and Summer School Scholarships, as well as the UTS Secondary Teacher Education Scholarship.

I’m registered with the Victorian Institute of Teachers and NSW Education Standards Authority, a member of the NSW Science Teachers Association and VicPhysics Teachers' Network, and have a current Working with Children Check.

What makes me a great teacher?

I know that education isn't a one-size-fits-all situation. I’m all about nurturing lifelong independent learners who are eager to dive into the wonders of the world. By customising my teaching methods to suit each student's style, I make sure they get the academic support they need to truly shine.

My talent for translating complex concepts into clear, succinct, and versatile explanations also sets me apart in the teaching world. I get that students have different ways of understanding, and I'm dedicated to discovering what makes each one click. My media and publishing background gives me a creative edge, helping students engage with the material and develop a deeper understanding of the mysteries of science.

Finally, as a veteran science communicator, I’m passionate about not only teaching the facts, but also sharing the art of spinning complex scientific ideas into engaging, digestible stories (and hopefully making your dinner table conversations a little more lively along the way).
